"My falsetto has diminished in strength," the actor said. He will be reprising Logan/Wolverine's role for the 10th consecutive time in "Deadpool 3."
Hugh Jackman has starred in a staggering nine "X-Men” universe film as Wolverine. He now says that his portrayal of the Marvel character has impacted a very significant part of him: His voice.
The actor revealed that years of playing Wolverine, specifically his "growling" and "yelling" during character play, had "damaged" his voice.
Jackman, 54 years old, said that "I've done some harm to my voice with Wolverine." "My falsetto is weaker than it used to be, and I put that down to the growling and shouting. Some of the things I did in 'Wolverine would have shocked my drama teacher.
Jackman is an actor and action superstar. He is also known for his Broadway work and for his roles in musical films like "The Greatest Showman" or "Les Miserables." His voice is, in other words: an important instrument.
Tony winner, however, said that he was taught "techniques" in school about how to shout and how not to ruin your voice. However, he stated that playing Wolverine had some lasting effects on the quality of his voice.
Jackson said, "During 'Wolverine' I did some screaming, yelling, and other things that I believe damaged my voice, which is something I'm working to fix." "I have a singing teacher and make sure I don't hurt myself. I put a lot into my physical movements and vocal preparations for each role.
Jackman will play Logan/Wolverine again in Deadpool 3, opposite Ryan Reynolds. The movie is due to be released in late 2014.
Last month, the "The Son" star opened up about long-held speculations that he had taken steroids to prepare for his role as Wolverine in any of the nine X-Man movies.
Chris Wallace and Jackman sat down together for the HBO Max series, "Who's Talking To Chris Wallace?" Jackman attributes his remarkable physique to hard work and good old-fashioned effort.
Wallace asked how many people have wondered "Did they juice?" after Wallace announced that he would be getting his claws out again to make the third "Deadpool". Was he on steroids? He said that he was "so jacked" for the role.
"No. "No.
Then he added "No, I do it the old-school way", before sheepishly apologizing for vegans and chickens around the world for the amount of poultry he ate to gain muscle.
