Ice Spice Says Matty Healy Apologized to Her Personally for Offensive Podcast Comments

Ice Spice Says Matty Healy Apologized to Her Personally for Offensive Podcast Comments

The rapper claims that the two met recently after he called her "Inuit Spice Girl," and "chubby Chinese woman."

Ice Spice has said that the relationship between her and Matty Haley is "good" after he made controversial comments about the rapper in earlier this year.

Healy, Adam Friedland, and Nick Mullen were on a podcast when they discussed Ice Spice's race, made fun of other cultures' accents, called the rapper an "Inuit Spice Girl", and a "chubby Chinese woman".

In a recent interview, Ice Spice opened up to Variety about her current thoughts.

Spice said, "I was confused when I heard the little podcast." "Because when I heard the phrase 'chubby Chinese woman' or something like that, I was like, 'Huh'. What is that? First off, I am thick. What do you understand by Chinese? What? "But then they apologized."

She said that she didn't care "the entire time," but recently, Healy apologized to her in person at a party.

"But it's funny, because I saw him at a Jean Paul Gaultier event a few days ago and he said, 'Hey you okay? "Of course," I replied. He apologized several times to me. "We're fine," she said.

Healy addressed the controversy previously in an Interview with the New Yorker. He said that "it doesn't really matter."

"Nobody sits at their computer at night and slumps over, their boyfriend comes and asks, 'What is wrong, darling?" They say, "It's only this thing with Matty. "That doesn't happen."

The frontman of 1975 continued, "If you do, you're either deluded, or, sorry, you are a liar." "You are either lying about being hurt or you have a mental disorder for being injured."

It's people saying, "Oh, there is a bad thing there, let me come as close as I can so you can see just how good I am." "I kind of want to see them do that because they are demonstrating something so basic."

Healy apologized at a concert where he stated that "he never meant to hurt anyone."

Healy apologized in New Zealand for offending him. "Ice Spice, I'm sorry. Not because I was annoyed that my joke got misconstrued but rather, I didn't want Ice Spice thinking that I was a dick. I love you Ice Spice... It's okay for me to act like a trickster, or whatever. But I don't wish to be perceived as mean hearted."
