She was employed at the Indiana Department of Corrections... and left behind a hat that had the insignia of the department and her name at the crime scene.
Kristen Wolf will spend her entire life behind bars for two grisly murders that occurred in 2020. She was able to avoid the death penalty through a plea agreement.
Monday's court hearing saw the Indiana woman accept a plea deal from the prosecutors. She pleaded guilty to all charges -- two counts murder, one count attempted murder -- in order to remove the death penalty.
According to FOX59, the agreement calls for a 100 year sentence. However, her official sentencing will take place in January 2023.
Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears stated in a statement via WRTV, "There is no place in our society for this kind of violent or senseless attack." Wolf will spend her entire life in prison under this agreement. During this time, we continue to think about the families and all those who were affected by the tragedy.
Famous Torso Killer is Already in Prison for Murder. He Confirms Five More Killings
Court documents show that Wolf killed two people and injures another one during an apparent random attack on May 11, 2020.
Witnesses say five people were in an Indianapolis apartment when someone banged on the door. Victoria Cook, 24, was one of those inside and opened the door. She was then stabbed in her neck. After allegedly stabbing Elizabeth McHugh in her neck, Dylan Dickover tried to stop the attack and was also stabbed. Cook was declared dead on the spot, and Dickover, who was 28 at the time, died in hospital. McHugh was quickly admitted to surgery and survived.
Another witness was present at the house when the attack occurred. He came down to investigate the situation before the attacker attacked him with a knife. The attacker fled downstairs, and he fled upstairs.
According to the man who saw it, the attacker was a strawberry-blond woman wearing a work uniform. A hat with the Indiana Department of Corrections insignia on it, and the name Wolf written on a tag was also left behind. DNA evidence was also included. Investigators quickly connected the hat to Wolf, who was working at IDC at time of the murders. She was then arrested at Madison Correctional Facility.
FOX59 reports that police discovered a manifesto at her house. It described how she "imagined what it would feel like to kill someone" and how she was inspired by serial killers. According to the outlet, she also stated that she had considered killing her boyfriend or wife but decided not to do so.
ReportWTHR said that the documents contained information believed to have been a written will. It also indicated that Wolf "was not planning to die" but was ready for it.
All papers were dated on the same day that the murders.
