Jada pinkett Smith has opened up about her sexuality after years of rumors that she and her husband Will Smith were gay.

In her new book Deserving the actress tackles the gossip while talking about her sexual freedom in the early 1990s, after she moved to Los Angeles to begin her career.

"Now, I have always heard rumors about me being gay -- and that I like to be with women. She wrote: "Maybe it was because I frequented clubs like the Catch in L.A., which at the time, was one of the most popular LGBTQ+ places. There were nights where people would lip-synch and I, myself, lip-synced to many different songs. I killed Madonna's "Vogue" there one night.

She continued, "The truth is, during those early exploration years in Hollywood, i had a few sex experiences with women only to discover that when it comes sex, i love men."

"I still cherish the beauty of woman inside and out." Jada said, "I have never stopped admiring and being fascinated by women of all sizes, colors, and ages." "I believe that women are the most incredible creatures on earth, and I have reverence for them through my friends."

She said that she learned from this "season" in her life "that every woman has the right and freedom to embrace and explore her sexuality without apology by her own definition." Pinkett Smith said that this "fun" phase and exploration with men, was "ultimately brief" once she realized the "temporary highs" she got from hookups.

Last week, while sitting down with TODAY Hoda Kotb for an NBC News Primetime Special, the actress reacted to the many rumors that both she and her husband Will Smith have faced throughout their marriage. These rumours include the rumors that either she or Will Smith are gay, swingers, or are in an open marriage.

Jada, a 52-year-old woman, stated that "none of that is true." "I can definitely understand why there might be misunderstandings. But none of that is true."
