Jamie Lee Curtis, a '80s star, and Jennifer Grey posed together recently on the red carpet of this year's Hollywood ReporterWomen in Entertainment gala. Fans loved Curtis's photos as much as the political statement she made with her outfit.

Grey and Curtis Stunned on The Red Carpet

Grey and Curtis were both huge stars of the 1980s - Grey with her roles in films like Trading Places and Escape from New York and A Fish Called Wanda; and Curtis with Grey's starring roles in classic films like Dirty Dancing or Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.

The actresses took photos side-by-side at The Hollywood Reporter’s 2022 Power 100 Women In Entertainment gala. Grey looked elegant in an all-black ensemble, wearing black trousers and a sheer top with a black leather jacket. She also wore chunky, black-framed glasses.

Curtis wore bright red pantsuits and her gold-framed aviator sunglasses. Also, she wore a tshirt that featured the name and image of Mahsa Amini (22-year-old Iranian woman who was killed while being held in police custody).

Guidance Patrol, Iran’s religious morality police force for Iran, arrested Amini this year for not properly wearing her hijab. Although her official cause of death was a heart attack according to the Guidance Patrol, Iran's religious morality police force, women in custody with Amini claim that she was severely beaten and eventually died from her injuries.

Protests have been held in Iran and other countries to mourn her death. There has also been a massive social media movement to demand justice for Amini. Protestors used the slogan "Zan Zendegi Azadi," meaning "Woman Life Liberty."

Celebrities who have raised awareness about Amini's death

Curtis isn’t the only celeb to support Amini. Actress Leah Remini, author J.K. Rowling and comedian Shaparak Khorsandi have posted publicly about Amini’s passing.

Curtis and Janelle Monae presented college scholarships to high school seniors in Los Angeles while Curtis attended the gala. Grey and Curtis have been icons in the film industry and their support for other women has made them both a popular choice.
