Jamie Lee Curtis Displays Her They/Them Oscar Next to a Prop Butt Plug Award

The Oscar-winning actress, who played the role of Ruby in "Everything Everywhere All At Once," won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar. She previously stated that she has decided to refer her award using gender-neutral pronouns to "support her transgender daughter Ruby."

Jamie Lee Curtis' Oscar statuette recently won has a very conventional home but some interesting neighbours.

The actress posted a photo on Wednesday showing how she displayed her Oscar and SAG Awards. Curtis was recognized with the 2023 Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress, and the Screen Actors Guild Award as Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor In a Supporting Role.

Curtis appears to be keeping her Oscar, which Curtis gave gender-neutral pronouns, and SAG Award on a shelf as shown in the photo. The "Halloween", actress had placed a third trophy between the two statues: her "EEAAO" character’s "Auditor Of the Year" award. It is shaped like a buttplug.

"OK I'LL STOP! "The TOTALLY unexpected EVERYTHING TRIPECTA of 2023!" Curtis, 64, captioned the post. "@theacademy @sagawards #auditorofthemonth @everythingeverywheremovie."

Curtis, however, revealed that she decided to refer to her Oscar using gender-neutral pronouns on Tuesday during a appearance on "TODAY".

"Here they come! To support Ruby, I am having them be they/them. She told Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb that she would just call them "they/them". "And they're doing great, they're getting settled in, and I just never in my life saw it in a million decades that I would have these couple days. And I'm so moved by this whole thing."

Curtis' Oscar was her first Academy Awards win.

She was beaten by Angela Bassett ("Black Panther, Wakanda Forever") and Hong Chau ("The Whale"), Kerry Condon ("The Banshees of Inisherin"), and Stephanie Hsu ("Everything Everywhere at Once") for the award.

Curtis took to the stage, exclaiming "I am hundreds and people!" She thanked the Daniels, her costars, and all who worked on the film, as well as her family and long-term management team.

"To all the people who supported the genre movies that I made over the years, the thousands, hundreds, and thousands of people, we just shared an Oscar!" She shouted, referring to her early horror career and "Halloween' legacy.

In tears, she concluded her speech, referring to her parents Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh, and saying, "And both my mother and dad were nominated for Oscars in different categories... "I just won an Oscar."
