The No Hard Feelings actress initially claimed that her mother had sold her broken bathroom to the longtime writer partner of the director. She has now acknowledged that her memory was incorrect.
Jennifer Lawrence sets the record straight on a hilariousanecdote that she told about Craigslist, and... a bathroom.
The story began last week, when the actress, who was promoting her upcoming No Harsh Feelings film, recalled the story of her mother selling a bathroom on Craigslist. This website is featured as part of the film's plot. Lawrence's character answers an ad on Craigslist by a couple looking for a woman to go out with their son Percy, who is 19 years old.
People reported that the 32-year old Oscar winner said her mother sold her broken bathroom toilet on Craigslist to a buyer "years ago" who had a connection with No Hard Feelings. Lawrence said that the buyer was Lee Eisenberg, Gene Sputnisky’s longtime partner in writing.
Eisenberg denied the story outright almost immediately after Lawrence told the story.
The true story was revealed a few weeks later. Lawrence confessed that she initially remembered the story incorrectly when speaking to Entertainment Tonight during the Tuesday premiere of No Hard Feelings.
She shared, "I got it all wrong." My mom bought Lee's bathroom. He clarified that none of it was true. I said, "Well, that's [not true]." "I literally got confused as to who bought or sold [the bathroom]."
