Derek Hough shared his touching tribute, "My mind is clinging on to memories of the dear friends we have all lost."

Stephen "tWitch," Boss, who died Wednesday at the age of 62, was a shock to the dance world. He was also the star of "World of Dance."

Boss was featured on the fourth and final season of the show as a guest judge. After hearing about his death, the rest the judging panel, which included Jennifer Lopez and Derek Hough, paid tribute to the star.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Boss committed suicide at 40 years old. In 2013, he married Allison Holker, a fellow dancer. Then Boss adopted Weslie Holker's child. They welcomed two more children together: Maddox (6 years old) and Zaia (3 years). Just four days before Holker's death, Bosss and Holker celebrated the 9th anniversary of their marriage.

Hough wrote that his heart is "aching for @allisonholker during this time"

He said, "My mind is clinging on to memories of the dear friend that we all lost," he continued. When I think about twitch, I think Wisdom, Love Light, Light, and Laughter. He was an inspiration to all who knew him and brought joy to all who met him.

Hough concluded that it would take time to process all of this. My friend, may you rest in peace. We love you "

Hayley Erbert, Derek's fiancée and fellow dancer, also shared a tribute. She wrote that she was "at a complete lack of words to express how I feel."

"My heart is breaking. Stephen was truly a shining light in the world and I will always be grateful to have been able to dance with, mentor, and be friends with him." she said. My heart goes out to @allisonholker, their beautiful children. Take comfort, Twitch. You are so loved

Ne-Yo shared Lopez's tribute on his Instagram Story and added, "Damn bro "

Boss first appeared on "The Wade Robson Project" and then he became a contestant in "So You Think You Can Dance," where he was a judge again in 2018 as well as earlier this year. He was Ellen DeGeneres' long-running DJ and appeared in three "Step Up” films.
