Jeremy Renner made one request at the hospital in case of his snowplow injuries that could prove fatal.

Diane Sawyer, 52, spoke with Diane Sawyer about his "Jeremy Renner -- The Diane Sawyer Interview -- A Story of Terror, Survival and Triumph". While talking to Diane Sawyer, the "Hawkeye” star from "Hawkeye", he revealed what might have been his final words to his family.

Renner said, "I'm writing notes in my smartphone -- my last words of love to my family." Before he cried and read his final words, Renner thought back. "Don't allow me to live on tubes or on a machine. "And if my existence will be dependent on drugs and painkillers then let me go.

According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Department on January 1, the "Avengers'" star was flown to a nearby hospital following an injury clearing snowfall at his Mt. Rose Highway. The actor was exiting the snowplow when he noticed that the emergency brake system wasn't properly applied and began to slide towards his nephew, who was directly in the path of direct impact. Renner tried to save his nephew by stepping up on the track to stop the plow from going straight towards him.

In an interview with the actor, he revealed that Anthony Mackie, his fellow "Avenger", was "at my bedside" during his recovery from extensive injuries.

Sawyer asked Renner what "the best thing someone said to you" after his accident. The Oscar nominee replied that it was the actions that mattered more than the words.

He explained that Mackie was at his bedside in Reno, while the special highlighted the well wishes received by fellow MCU actors.

Evangeline Lilly (43), was one of them. She spoke out about her amazement at his recovery in an interview with Access Hollywood in February.

"I walked into his house and bought chicken skin. I was like, "Why are you so mobile?" What's the matter with you? What's happening?'" The "Antman” star was unable to recall the details. "I was expecting to be able to hold his hand as he groaned and moaned in pain, but I wasn't able move." He was laughing with his friends, and was moving around.

She said, "It is a miracle." It's an absolute miracle. This guy is a fighter. He is incredibly recovering from the injuries he sustained.

Lily recounted then how Renner described the "intense" near-death experience, and how he was awake during every moment.

She said that she still has moments when he told me some of the things he experienced, and retelling my story of what happened and the things he heard and the things he saw.
