She wrote, "These are fake abs," over the image
Jessie James Decker mocks criticisms of photos she shared with her family.
The country singer shared a photo of Eric Decker, her husband, on Thursday to her Instagram Stories. The former NFL star is seen holding a glass of milk in the photo while wearing sweatpants, a Santa hat and no shirt. He also has his six-pack visible.
Jessie James (34), wrote, "Santa says to drink your milk," over the photo. Then she cracked a joke about the photoshop scandal from earlier in the week, where she was accused of editing photos of her children, adding stomachs to theirs, and "overtraining".
The mother of Eric's abdomen is below, and Eric's daughter quipped, "These fake abs."
This is just days after Jessie James was criticized for a photo of Eric and Viviane's children -- Viviane, 8; Eric Jr., 7; and Forrest, 4 -- she posted to Instagram.
The shot was taken on a family vacation. The three children are wearing swimsuits, and the stomach muscles appear very toned.
Jessie James laughed at the criticisms in the comment section. One user had written: "Surely this app is not for me," and Jessie James responded by saying, "Yeah, I used an "ab" app on my children.
Another critic commented that "this requires a special diet and exercise and it seems strange on a baby hence all the comments." The "Dancing with the Stars” alum responded by writing "from one mother to the next." You shouldn't label my children's appearance as strange because they don’t look like you expect. It's unkind."
Jessie James also spoke out about the criticism a few days later in an Instagram post. She claimed that she had Photoshopped her children's abs.
"I didn’t intend on addressing it because it’s bonkers, but the photos and videos are out there and every news outlet has posted about it," she wrote along with a compilation video featuring clips of her children from their vacation. "When I posted photos of our vacation, and included the children being silly flexing at the beach on our thanksgiving getaway trip, I had no idea it would get such a reaction."
The singer of "Flip my Hair" continued: "But Being accused by photoshopping abs onto my kids (I can’t help but laugh at this) or... the opposite over 'overtraining’ our kids makes it clear how strange our world has become regarding the body and what is normal and unacceptable. My kids have a lot of genetic muscle and muscle built from athletics.
She said, "I want my children to feel proud of their bodies." Let's not choose what body norms we accept and instead be open to all children. Do better if you want to be 'better'. My children are my pride and I encourage them to pursue their dreams. We'll be there at the 2032 Olympics and will see you all wearing Bubbys jerseys in the stands, as well as dancing at Forrests' rock concert.
