The first ladies of America have been the epitome of elegance and poise for centuries. Jill Biden, the current First Lady of the United States, proved that her legacy will not be diminished at Sunday's 2023 Grammy Awards. She gave some of the biggest stars in the room a run for their cash.

Dr. Jill Biden surprised everyone by appearing at the 65th Grammy Awards. This made her one of the first women to present at an awards ceremony. Biden was the first to present the Grammys' new competition category, Best Song For Social Change. This night was significant for many reasons.

Dr. Biden stated that she was there to honor "a song that responds the social issues and our time has the potential to have a positive global impact." Shervin Hajpour, an Iranian singer-songwriter, wrote "Baraye" in response to Mahsa's alleged murder.

Amini, 22, was arrested by Iran's morality officers in September for wearing her hijab incorrectly. Eyewitnesses claimed that Amini was brutally beaten by police officers, which contributed to the growing unrest in Iran regarding compulsory hijab laws. Her death sparked protests across the globe about violence against Iranian women.

Hajpour, inspired by Amini's song "Baraye", which roughly translates to "because of") became the official anthem for the protests. Following the protests, Hajpour was arrested for inciting violence against Iran's government.

"Shervin was taken into custody, but this song still resonates around the globe with its powerful theme--women and life, freedom," Dr. Biden stated on Sunday, calling the song "a powerful and poetic call to freedom and women's right."

Although Dr. Biden was there to fulfill an important purpose, she did not forget about the dress code. In a stunning Oscar de la Renta off-the-shoulder gown, the first lady looked magnificent.

This long-sleeved dress featured beautiful floral details and a silver pattern that gave it a disco-ball-like shine. It was one of the most eye-catching looks of the evening.

Silver was not the only outfit Dr. Biden wore to the Grammys. Harry Styles received his Album of the Year award in a stunning silver top, before switching to a bold jumpsuit during his performance.

Lizzo accepted the award in a metallic-silver ruched minidress. Beyonce was awarded the Grammys' most-awarded artist while wearing a shining, camel strapless gown.

Dr. Biden was elegant and timeless in her gown but she was also very on-trend. Biden's gown was truly one of the highlights of the evening and a testament to her main reason for attending. It just goes to prove that glamour doesn't age.
