Stamos claimed that his agent tried to set up the couple after he divorced Rebecca Romijn.
Kristen Bell could be Mrs. John Stamos in an alternate universe.
Stamos admitted that his agent had tried to set him up with Dax's spouse back in the mid 2000s during a recent appearance on DaxShepard's Armchair Expert podcast.
"I was recently divorced from my ex-wife Rebecca Romijn. My press agent said that there was an award show, party or after party and that she wanted to meet me. You have to meet her. She is in the theatre. He recalled, "She's funny, you guys would make a great team." Kristen was the one who did it.
In 2004, Romijn and Stamos split. This was the year Bell landed her breakthrough role on "Veronica Mars". She also appeared in "Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical" at the same time and was also in "The Crucible: The Broadway Musical".
Bell and Stamos were photographed at a party in 2006 ( over).
"No kidding! As Stamos shared his story, Dax exclaimed, "That would have been amazing!" Monica Padman gasped. "I said, "She's so adorable and so great, but I'm way too old," Stamos continued, before Shepard pointed out the 17-year age gap between Kristen and John.
Shepard said, "So that would have been less than your current gal," referring to the 23-year age gap between Caitlin McHugh Stamos and the "Fuller House” star.
Stamos and McHugh began dating in 2016, and were engaged the next year. They were married in February 2018 and welcomed their first child, Billy, in April 2018.
Bell and Shepard began dating in 2007 but they didn't get married until 2013, when the Supreme Court invalidated the Defense of Marriage Act. They have two daughters, Delta (the father) and Lincoln (the mother).
