JoJo Siwa Slams Candace Cameron Bure's 'Rude and Hurtful' Comments on 'Traditional Marriage' After Feud

Jodie Sweetin (Bure's "Fuller House") co-star expressed support for Siwa through the comments

JoJo Siwa has joined the chorus of criticism against Candace Cameron Bure. The actress recently shared that the Great American Family Network -- for which she recently quit the Hallmark Channel -- will be focusing on "traditional marriage[s]" in its content.

Monday's Wall Street Journal profile of Bure (46) was published. She explained why she decided to do holiday movies for the channel that is Christian-oriented. The network was praised as having "Christians who love the Lord and want to promote faith programming, good family entertainment, and the promotion of faith programming."

She criticised Hallmark and called it "a completely new network than when I started it because of the change in leadership." Before stating that same-sex couples probably wouldn't be featured on Great American Family's programming, she also criticized Hallmark. She told WSJ that she believes Great American Family will preserve traditional marriage as its core.

Hilarie Burton Calls out 'Bigots' Candace Cameron Bure after 'Traditional Marriage. Comment

Siwa, who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community but had previously been in a public feud against the "Fuller House” star, called out Bure on Instagram for her comments about GAF's focus on "traditional marriage" and described her comments as "rude & hurtful."

"Honestly, after all that happened just a few month ago, I can't believe that she would not create a film with the intention of exclusion LGBTQIA+ but also talk about it later in the press," Siwa captioned a photo from a news article about Bure. "This is rude, and it's hurtful to a whole group of people."

TooFab reached out to Bure in order for comments.

Jodie Sweetin, Bure's "Full House", and "Fuller House", co-stars, offered their support to Siwa, after Bure slammed them.

Sweetin, 40, commented in Siwa’s Instagram post and wrote, "You know, I love you."

The actress expressed her support for the LGBTQIA+ community by sharing posts about Respect of Marriage Act and a video featuring a man criticizing people who believe Jesus "condemned homosexuality" ( below). She also shared Stories on Tuesday.

Siwa and Bure fought online during the summer, after Siwa was referred to by "The View" as the "rudest celebrity she had ever met in TikTok. This has since been deleted.

The video caused a lot of back-and forth on social media. It all stemmed from a red-carpet encounter years ago, when Siwa claimed Bure had snubbed her after she requested a photo.
