Drew Scott , HGTV star, just announced that he is expecting his first child with his wife Linda Phan. His brother Jonathan will be happy to take over as his uncle. The Property Brothers star posted the news to Instagram.

Family and Friends Celebrate Baby News

Jonathan shared a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt that said, "This is What a Cool Uncle Looks Like." The caption was, "Was it a better choice than a Hunky Unky shirt?" Seriously though, congrats @mrdrewscott and @imlindork. You'll make wonderful parents.

JD Scott, HGTV's other brother, commented on Jonathan's tee-shirt. He said, "The cool uncle doesn’t need a shirt." Fans expressed their gratitude for the baby's arrival. One commenter wrote "and you will be a great uncle!" While another commented, "What beautiful news! Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to you and Zooey," refers to his relationship with Zooey Deschanel. They began dating shortly after Deschanel separated from Jacob Pechenik in 2019, when she had two children with him.

"This has been a long time of trying"

Drew and Phan shared their news during a call with a producer from Property Brothers. Phan stated that they hadn't yet told Drew, but she was pregnant. Drew responded by saying, "You are the first to know in this episode!"

He said, "Cat's out the bag everyone!" and addressed their listeners. We wanted to let everyone know that Linda is pregnant. We are so excited!"

Phan stated that she was unsure at first whether she wanted to tell her friends and family about her pregnancy. She preferred to "process the feeling myself, before diluting the excitement with others'."

They shared that Phan is currently undergoing IVF treatment. This wasn't an easy road. Drew stated that it has been a long and difficult journey. "It creates a sense of community among people who have gone through this process, are going through it or have had certain difficulties. It also helps you to see that you are not the only one."

He said, "There are many of us who have had complications. I think something like this should be something we talk about because it doesn't make the situation as scary." It makes it more relatable.
