When "CSI: Vegas" returns for its second season, two of the show's most prominent names will be gone.

Star Jorja Fox, the actress who played Sara Sidle in the original "CSI", and on the revival of 2021, announced Tuesday that she will not be returning.

"Hello #CSI fans! After much thought, I decided to not 'Sidle Up' for CSI Vegas. CSI has been a love story for me. She wrote that she believes people can find love even in the most difficult of circumstances.

"And this is the story of love. Even in the most difficult times and places, it can grow roots and endure. Personally, I can't see Sara and Grissom being apart again. So goes Grissom ... Sara follows suit. She added that they are always together no matter where they go."

William Petersen played Gil Grissom on both the original series as well as the reboot. In December, it was confirmed that he would not be returning to "CSI: Vegas", when the show was renewed for a second series. Petersen was reportedly only onboard for one season but will continue to serve as executive producer.

Although CBS had hoped Fox would return to the network, it seems that she decided against it.

"Thanks for watching everyone !!!!! Keep tuning in! She said on Tuesday, "I know I will." "CSI VEGAS is an amazing team, and it should be an incredible show!"

CBS will air "CSI: Vegas" again for the 2022-2023 season.
