According to reports, the 10-year-old accused in adult murder charges has only $100 saved from birthday gifts, allowances and money he found on couch cushions.

A Milwaukee boy aged 10 was accused of murdering his mother. His mother reportedly refused to give him a VR set from Amazon. He appeared in court this week and pleaded to have his bail amount reduced from $50,000 to $100.

According to his attorney, he argued that because he doesn't have any income, bail should be reduced to the amount he has in savings. This was $100 from birthday gifts, his allowance, and money he found between couch cushions.

According to the Milwaukee Journal, the prosecution requested that the court impose travel restrictions on the child. He also requested that, should he be granted bail, he would have to stay with a relative.

Judge Jane Carroll acknowledged that bail conditions for adults don't make sense when they are applied to a 10-year old during the proceedings. The suspect was charged with adult reckless homicide. FYI: Children as young as 10 years old can be charged with serious crimes in Wisconsin.

She denied her client's request to lower his bail, and she did agree to the travel restriction. However, she did not make it obligatory for him to be in the custody of his family if he was released.

Although it is not clear who the child will live with, the judge ordered that he be placed on GPS monitoring. This ruling will prevent the boy from leaving the state to live in Illinois with his father.

According to reports, the boy "mostly kept his heads down" during the proceedings. He was not subjected to restraints or shackles.

The shooting occurred on November 21. Police initially stated that the boy was "playing" and twirling the gun around his finger as his mom was washing dishes. The child's family called police the next day about his behavior following the shooting. They conducted a follow up interview with him, and he allegedly admitted that he had pointed the gun at his mother.

According to him, he claimed that he took the gun out of a locked box in their house because his mother had woken him up half an hour earlier than usual and wouldn't allow him to place an Amazon order. His aunt and sister claimed that the child didn't express any emotion or remorse over the death of his mother. They also said that he ordered an Oculus VR headset from his deceased mother's Amazon account.

The 7-year-old was accused of attacking his cousin. After his aunt brought him to her house, he allegedly stated that he was sorry for "killing my mom". He then asked if his Amazon parcel had arrived.
