Are You there God? The author of "It's Me, Margaret," claimed that her comments had been taken out-of-context after she stated she supported Rowling, "100%."
Judy Blume's support for transgender people is clear after she made comments that seemed to be a reference to J.K. Rowling’s controversial views on gender identity.
The 85-year old "Superfudge' author told "The Sunday Times" that she supported the "Harry Potter "writer "100%".
"I love [her]. Blume stated, "I am with her 100 percent while I watch from afar." The publication said that Blume was "referring to Rowling's abuse for speaking out in defense of women’s sex based rights."
The author of "Are you there God? The author of "It's Me Margaret" has now clarified that her comments were taken out-of-context and posted on Twitter to clarify.
"I fully support the trans community." Blume wrote: "My point, which has been taken out of context is that I empathize a writer - or person - who has experienced online harassment."
She added, "I am with the transgender community and I vehemently oppose anyone who doesn't fully support equality and accept LGBTQIA+ individuals. "Anything to the contrary, is total bullsh-t."
Rowling, despite her love for the "Harry Potter", series has become a controversial person because of her comments on trans issues dating back to December 2019.
