The hilarious reason for her unusual pronunciation was revealed by the actress.

Julia Fox shares her thoughts about the reaction of social media to her viral pronunciation of "Uncut Gems", the 2019 film's title.

The actress, 32 years old, spoke out on Thursday about the TikTok trend of people imitating her pronunciation of "Uncut Gems."

The viral audio clip was created by Fox's appearance last week on "Call Her Daddy". The interview took place while the model was still with Kanye West, AKA "Ye", at the time. Alex Cooper asked Fox if she considered herself the rapper's "muse" during the conversation on "Call Her Daddy."

"Yeah, that's what I meant. Fox said that Fox had thought so. Cooper then asked Fox, "What's a muse?" Fox replied now, and it is well-known, "I mean Josh Safdie was my muse when I wrote 'Uncut Gems. You know what I mean? You'll like things like this."

As Fox's unique pronunciations of "gems" quickly went viral, the TikTok snippet became a TikTok fad. Thousands TikTok users used the audio to make hilarious impressions about Fox.

Celebrities have also joined the trend: Shay Mitchell, Bethenny Frankel, Cara Delevingne, and Cara Delevingne, as well Ashlee Simpson, who recorded a video together with Inanna Sarkis.

Page Six shared a video Thursday featuring a compilation TikTok users doing Fox-like imitations.

The outlet captioned the video: "TikTokers jump to impersonate this #JuliaFox interview...and they can't stop looking."

Fox was not surprised by Page Six's post and the TikTok trend as a whole. Fox responded to the trend while explaining the reasons behind Page Six's unusually strong emphasis in the word "gems".

Fox seems to have a great sense of humor, despite some people taking the trend in a wrong direction.

"Omggggggggg I was stoned leave it alone !!!!" Fox commented on Page Six’s video. "Hahahahahah ."

This news comes just days after Fox and West announced their split after about a month of dating.
