Kathy Hilton finally watched Paris' documentary with allegations about boarding schools, and shares her reaction

Kathy Hilton finally watched Paris' documentary with allegations about boarding schools, and shares her reaction

"It put my into such a depression."

Kathy Hilton revealed that she finally saw her daughter Paris' heartbreaking documentary "This Is Paris" over a year ago.

Andy Cohen's SiriusXM radio program, Radio Andy, featured the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills", star. She shared her reactions to the YouTube film, which was released in September 2020, and described her reactions.

The documentary features Paris's alleged abuse as a teenager at a private boarding school.

Andy, 53, asked Kathy 40 if she hadn't yet seen "This Is Paris"; Kathy replied that "was true" because she had just watched it the first time she saw it. They did make me. Paris said to me, "It's very important for me, Mommy. You should watch this."

Reality star said that she held a Paris release party when the documentary was released, but that she couldn’t bear to see it at the time.

Kathy said, "Outside we did a large screen." After watching just a few clips, it was too much. You can see me just finding out that it is not about me. Yet, it was so devastating how I was told.

"For her to keep it in for 20 years ...,"" she said, referring to Paris' claim that she was physically and mentally abused at Provo Canyon School, Utah.

Kathy shared that she finally saw the film after Paris and her return from Washington D.C. Paris spoke out on Capitol Hill in October to support troubled teen care reform. She also shared her experiences at the Utah private school.

Kathy told Andy that she had said "I mean", to her a few weeks back. Then, when I returned from Washington, I said, "I still haven't watched it." "So, when we returned, I watched it and we held our hands for an hour. I could see how important this was. It was amazing to feel the energy from her, and how happy and relieved she was that I would be able to watch it.

"But it put my into such a depression that, I mean. A lot of people understood that Rick Hilton and me were trying to help our daughter. She continued, "You know, we were trying save Paris." "... We were worried. She was in New York. She would sneak out, sometimes not returning home for three days. She was not going to school. So we placed her in this boarding school, and this one [and] this another. I thought, "Gotta keep him away from the city and all those predators and people who want her to model." She escaped from everywhere. You only saw 20 minutes of the entire time. Everything else was business."

Kathy stated that at the time she felt helpless and suggested that Rick and she ultimately decided to send Paris from Provo Canyon School.

She explained that she was prepared for the booby-hatch. "I literally say to myself, What do we do?' Go to Mars! What are we going to do? ... I felt so helpless. We had to send her [to Provo Canyon School, Utah] after she'd visited. We had also met with school placement personnel. It was handled very professionally."

She said, "In fact, we were told -- I discovered after this came out -- there are people that you and me both know who have had these issues or sent their child into the school. Finally, they discussed it. "You know what? You feel ashamed."

Paris' claims regarding the Provo Canyon School in Utah, as shown in "This Is Paris", were supported by similar accounts from her former roommate.

These stories played a significant role in Paris' refusal to let her mother see the film. Before filming the documentary, she had not spoken to her about these alleged experiences.

The doc captured their first ever conversation about it. It also included Kathy learning about some of the things Paris described to her for the first time.

Paris told Kathy that she had known about this when she spoke to her about her time at the school. "I am so proud of your achievements."
