Katie throws Raquel a punch, and then Maloney's mother joins in the fight. Ariana becomes an emotional wreck.

This would have been an exciting way to finish the season.

The season finale of "Vanderpump Rules", which aired on Wednesday, was supposed to be the last episode. However, the affair between Tom Sandoval (left) and Raquel Leviss (right) broke out and Bravo cameras were scrambled in order to capture the cast's reaction to the scandal. We'll have wait until next week for the big reveal and fireworks. But this hour was still pretty explosive.

Ariana Madix, Katie Maloney and the rest of the cast were all present for a large event that culminated with a sandwich tasting. The tensions between Katie Maloney, Raquel Leviss and Tom Schwartz, which started when Leviss expressed an interest in Tom before making out with Tom, reached a boiling-point.

Katie's mother Teri expressed her disappointment to Tom at the party over the Raquel hookup, reminding him that he and his former wife agreed to not pursue any romantic activities with their friends. She told him that it was a "slap in face" and "that is hurtful for any woman." Was it worth it?

He told her "No, it was not worth it," which he repeated in a confessional.

Raquel tried to be nice by telling Katie that the sandwiches were tasty. Raquel then made things worse by criticizing Katie's "rage text" for telling Tom that she may have made out with Tom at a West Hollywood bar.

You filed for divorce. Raquel said, "It's not your business whether Schwartz and me made it out or not." What the f--- do you have on right now? Katie shot back. "We've been together for 12 years. You can't imagine."

Katie was furious after Raquel told her that it wasn't Maloney’s job to "tell [him] who he should or shouldn't be hanging out with."

What is it that you don't understand? How thick is the skull of yours? This is my husband. You don't like him. You've only been friends with him for five minutes. "Get off it!" She shouted. "You have zero respect, no empathy, no respect. How were you raised?

"Maybe, I'm more sympathetic to Schwartz than you." Raquel replied, "That's my opinion," before Katie responded, "I don't think you should put it in your arse." I think you should leave.

Katie's mother Teri then interjected, recalling how she had told Raquel, during a Las Vegas trip, how "hurt her daughter" was by the divorce. "My conversation at dinner meant anything?" Teri asked Raquel who appeared to laugh at her mother's involvement. This reaction made Katie even more angry, prompting Maloney scream in Raquel’s face: "You are a little f---ing idiot. That's what you really are." You can walk away. Respectfully talk to [my mother]. "I'm so done with you. I'm done with you."

Sandoval also got involved, claiming that Maloney had been "hooking up" with another man while she still lived with Tom. Teri continued to tell Raquel to "shut-up" and called her actions again "hurtful". Sandoval, in a confessional, said it was "tacky' for Teri to get involved.

Ariana Madix, who had just seen the fight that Raquel and Katie were having, walked past looking stunned. Ariana Madix, who was friends with Katie and Raquel and was a close friend of both at the time felt in a bad position. She broke down in tears after the incident that occurred on Lisa Vanderpump’s shoulder.

"I just want to go home." I love Katie, and I love Raquel. All the screaming. "This summer has been f---ing awful," said she. "I feel like I'm not able to be there for my friends. "I don't believe I've fully processed everything."

Madix confessed, "I'm feeling like I'm being torn apart from the within."

Sandoval continued to fight with Katie, while Kristina told him that he shouldn't worry about his feud against Maloney and instead focus on comforting Katie, who was crying in the corner.

Tom was on the trail of Maloney as she fled. Raquel walked up to them as they faced off in the alleyway behind SUR. This didn't sit well with Katie.

You're not going interrupt. "We're having a conversation. Go away!" Raquel refused to move.

I just want to say one thing. Leviss replied, "I am an empathic person." Katie responded, "No you are not!" Katie. You were hurt because Schwartz had a relationship with someone. It hurts more that I was involved. Sorry for hurting you. Raquel continued, "It was not my intent to [hurt] you," though Maloney didn't seem to agree.

Katie said that after Leviss returned to the house, she had "had it" with Tom "because of his little ho." She ended by saying, "I do not need an apology from this woman." We're finished because you told me to stop talking and listen to her.

LVP gave a speech to the entire cast at the end of the hour. It would have been an excellent way to finish off this season.

"I've watched you all endure so much in the last year, and that's life. It throws crap at you." She said that it is not the things life throws at us but how we handle them.

"I love you all, I do. As you age, you will learn how to solve your own problems. She added, "Because each of you has the talent and tools to solve your problems." "I am always there for you... don't allow life to get the best of you." "I love you all, each and every one."

Watch for the final episode of "Vanderpump Rules" on Bravo next Wednesday.
