Kesha described the procedure that almost cost her life as "horrifying".

Keshareveals her experiences with a rare medical complication which nearly led to her death.

In an interview she gave to Self the singer spoke about the procedure that led her to decide on freezing her eggs. Kesha's procedure was not without complications, which doctors attributed to the immunodeficiency disorder she was diagnosed with 2022.

Kesha said in an interview, "I nearly died in January." "I feel better now, but it's taken a few months." It was horrible."

The pop star, who was in the Bahamas for New Year's Eve last year, was sick after the performance and was even unable walk. She was taken to a Miami hospital, where she spent the next nine days.

Kesha, however, is a little hesitant about speaking at the event. She doesn't wish for it to be taken out of context, and turned into a statement on pregnancy or reproductive health.

"I was just taking my reproductive health in my own hands." Kesha clarified, "I stand behind everyone who does that and [honors] your body."

She continued, "Everyone has a feeling that they share your experience, but at the same time it invites people to express their opinion." "I don't know how to do that."
