Kevin Spacey wept as he stood in the New York sex abuse case.

According to the Associated Press the House of Cards star was emotional when he testified against Anthony Rapp, who claimed Spacey made unwelcome sexual advances toward him as a teenager. Rapp is suing for millions of dollars in damages.

In a shocking interview with BuzzFeed News, Rapp made the claims in October 2017. Rapp, a star of "Star Trek: Discovery", claimed Spacey was his friend in the late '80s when they were performing on Broadway. Rapp was 14 when Spacey invited him to his apartment. Rapp claimed Spacey then 26 invited him and climbed up on him. Rapp later stated that he was able push him away and left.

Rapp had earlier detailed his accusations in his testimony and accused Spacey of assaulting and battery. Spacey denied all allegations and reaffirmed them on Monday.

The "American Beauty" actor stated, "They aren't true."

Spacey wept as he recalled how his legal team and management allegedly forced him to make a compassionate response to Rapp’s allegations.

He said, "They told me they couldn't force me to push back on that story." "I knew that I would not have any sexual interest Anthony Rapp or any other child. That was what I knew."

Spacey said, "The industry was very anxious," after noting that #MeToo was in full swing when Rapp came forward. Spacey said, "There was a lot fear about who would be next."

He continued to recall his reaction and said, "I was shocked." I was scared and confused. ... "I knew that I'd never been alone with Anthony Rapp."

Spacey issued a statement on Tweet in response to the BuzzFeed story, October 2017. He claimed that he doesn't remember the incident.

He wrote that he was "horrified" to hear his story. "I honestly don't remember the encounter. It would have been more than 30 years ago. If I behaved as he says, I owe him an apology for my drunken behavior. I also apologise for the emotions he has carried with me for so many years.

In a statement, the "21" star revealed that he was gay. He wrote: "As my closest friends know, I have had relationships both with men and women in my life," he said. "I have had romantic encounters and loved men all my life. I now choose to be a gay man." This is something I want to address honestly and openly. It starts with me examining my behavior.

Rapp's specific claims were addressed by Spacey during Monday's testimony. He stated that his managers asked him to release his apology statement to try to stop "a crisis from getting worse" and avoid being called "victim shamer".

The "Baby Driver," star stated that he regretted his entire statement and said, "I've learned an important lesson. It's never to apologize for something you did not do."

He also gave his account of the events that occurred on the night Rapp claimed the incident took place. He and Rapp met again when he was with John Barrowman.

Rapp had previously stated that he couldn't remember everything Barrowman said during his deposition but maintained that he believed Barrowman to be underage. It turns out that Barrowman was only 19 at the time.

Spacey testified that he took Spacey and Barrowman to dinner, then to a club before returning to his apartment. Spacey claimed that he was not interested in Rapp but only Barrowman. Spacey stated that Anthony Rapp looked like a child and John Barrowman like a man.

Spacey explained that Spacey's father was a white supremacist, neo-Nazi and a racist. It meant that my siblings, and I, had to listen to my father lecture us for hours on end about his beliefs.

According to AP, the actor of "Margin Call" said that his father used to yell at him for thinking he might be gay after he expressed interest in theater.

He cried, "I have never spoken about these things publicly," he said. "Ever."

He also stated that he didn't make the decision to be gay because of the BuzzFeed article. However, he said he had been thinking about it for more than a year before the interview.

Spacey cried as he apologized for using Twitter to respond to Rapp's accusations.

He said, "I was accused of trying to alter the subject [and] conflating these allegations with being homosexual, which was never my intention," and he was in tears.

He said, "I would never have done anything to harm the gay community." "It was wrong. It was really bad and I am deeply sorry."

Rapp's claim of intentional infliction or emotional distress was dismissed by Judge Lewis A. Kaplan Monday morning. He stated that it "repeats" Rapp’s assault and battery allegations.

According to TMZ there were over 20 other people who made sexual misconduct claims against Spacey, including Rapp.

Spacey has denied every allegation against him. These allegations include several that relate to his time as the artistic director of the Old Vic theatre in London, from 2004 through 2015.
