The actress who met her birth mother for the first time in 2012 wrote: "The angel who brought me into this life has passed."

Kristin Chenoweth is mourning the loss of her mother.

The actress posted on Instagram Saturday that her birth mother, Lynn, passed away. Chenoweth, who was adopted at a young age and met Lynn for the first time in 2012, paid a touching tribute to her mother. She called her an "angel", praised her "light" as well as her love of arts.

"The angel who brought me into the world has died." Lynn is her name. She began the caption of the post with "Aka Mamalynn", which included a series photos of her and Lynn over the years. "The 10 plus years I spent with her were magical. When I met her, and got to know her well, so many things about me became apparent. We who knew her adored her. Her love for music and everything artistic. "An artist herself!"

She added, "the mother of gorgeous Jennifer and adorable Chris." "Man, she loved her children!"

Chenoweth said that while Lynn was carrying her, she became a fan of many musicians, including Stevie Wonder, Jimmie Vaughan Doyle Bramhall Jimi Hendrix and Billy Ethridge.

She wrote, "The two gave me the innate ability to create that I have today."

Chenoweth continued her post by recalling the first time that she met Lynn before revealing their relationship.
