"No one is talking [about cancelling] this movie, which will glorify someone who raped children," Dan Reed, the director of the controversial documentary about sexual abuse allegations, said.

Dan Reed, the director of "Leaving Neverland," is shocked at the "total lack of outrage" as he watches the progress of a biopic about the King of Pop.

The nation was captivated by Reed's docuseries, "Leaving Neverland", in January 2019. Two men claimed that Jackson sexually assaulted and groomed them during their youth.

Mark Robson claimed that Jackson abused him when he was seven years of age, while James Safechuck allegedly was ten. Both men described Jackson inviting their families and friends to his Neverland Valley Ranch Ranch, where they were invited to spend the night.

Reed wrote a harsh condemnation for The Guardian, "No one is talking [about cancelling] this movie. It will glorify a men who raped children."

He continued, "What the absence of outrage surrounding the announcement of the movie tells us about Jackson's seduction that is still a living power, operating from beyond death," he said. "It seems Jackson's fans, the media and the vast older population who grew up to love him are ready to put aside their unhealthy relationship with children and just listen to the music.

Graham King, Oscar-winning Producer of "The Departed", and "Freddie Mercury Biopic" "Bohemian Rhapsody," is producing the new documentary film, along with John Branca, John McClain, and coexecutors of Jackson’s estate.

Reed referenced a Hollywood Reporter article about how the film might deal with the controversial aspects of Jackson's life. As he did before his passing, Jackson's innocence has been maintained by the estate. Jackson was never convicted.

Reed asked about this "gentle raising eyebrows" as he described THR’s approach to the topic. He said it was typical of media coverage.

He wrote, "In an age when full-throated rage accompanies any smell of delegitimization and insensitivity towards a vulnerable group,"

Reed revealed that Jackson would often invite his young children into his bedroom at night, even though he doesn't believe he did anything wrong. Jackson's confession in Martin Bashir’s 2003 documentary, "Living with Michael Jackson", triggered a series of investigations that would continue to dominate Jackson's story until the end.

Both Reed's and Bashir's documentaries have come under fire. Bashir was accused by Jackson of manipulating his final cut to portray him in a negative light. Jackson responded to the accusation by creating a Fox response piece that presented more positive footage and supported interviews about Jackson's parenting and behavior.

As Bashir's documentary, "Leaving Neverland", was criticized for being too one-sided because it was almost exclusively about Jackson's accusers with their largely unsubstantiated claims. Both men were disqualified from filing lawsuits based on their claims.

Other young men who had spent time with Jackson, including Aaron Carter, Macauley Culkin and Corey Feldman, asserted that they did not have any sexual relations.

Jackson's nephew Jaafar Jackson will play the role of his uncle in the upcoming biopic. Antoine Fuqua will direct the Lionsgate film "Michael", which was announced Monday via Instagram.

Fuqua and Jackson's family shared a photo showing Jaafar at what appears to be a dance rehearsal. He is striking the iconic MJ pose.

Prince Jackson expressed excitement about the project and captioned the image with, "I'm confident that we all will do our best to show to the world a side of my father they have never seen and that they should see."
