"We're going to bring in many fan favourite characters and make it even more crazy than the first."
Ready for Round 2?
New Line has officially announced that the studio will be releasing a sequel for its 2021 "Mortal Kombat” reboot. This follows a strong run at the box office as well as on HBO Max (where it premiered day-and-date during the pandemic). The film was written by Jeremy Slater, the Disney+ head writer for the upcoming Marvel series "Moon Knight".
There's not much news about the cast or new characters, but Lewis Tan, who starred in the original Cole Young movie, is excited to return to Outworld.
"You haven't seen anything yet!" You haven't seen everything yet. When TooFab asked him how they will improve the sequel, the actor said that they are just beginning to build this world.
"That was only the introduction. There is so much more to be done in the Mortal Kombat universe, the Mortal Kombat characters, and the Mortal Kombat Mortal Kombat series. He continued, "We're just starting, that was nothing." "That was just the introduction. Wait until you see what's next."
Tan continued to praise the film's writer, before promising that the film would "bring in many fan favourite characters and make it even more crazy than the first."
Although the actor claimed that he knew which fighters would be in the next movie, he could not confirm this information.
"When the movie was over, we discussed who we wanted to see. Kitana is what I want to see. I want to see Smoke. He teased, "I wanna see Nightwolf," before adding, “Obviously, we want to see Johnny Cage."
Cage, an action hero fighting for Earthrealm, will be almost certainly in the sequel. Tan's character was last seen leaving Los Angeles to join him in the second film. Mike "The Miz," Mizanin has been a fan favorite for the role, and Mizanin said he would be honored to do so.
Ryan Reynolds was also a part of the fan-casting via social media and used it to promote Mint Mobile ( over).
Tan promises that anyone who does end up playing the part will have a great time. He said, "We were just setting the foundation in the first one and second one. We're going mental."
You can stream the original movie on HBO Max if you missed it. Tan's latest movie, "Fistful of Vengeance", is streaming on Netflix.
