The actress also discusses her relationship status and responds to initial rumors that the actress wouldn't be returning for Season 3 of "Outer Banks".

Madelyn Cline has opened up about her relationship with Chase Stokes, "Outer Banks", after their split.

Cosmopolitan's February/March cover article featured Sarah Cameron, an actress who plays the role of Sarah Cameron in the Netflix series. She stressed that her and Stokes' separation didn't affect the show. After dating for more than a year, the couple split in November 2021.

"We have always maintained that the job will remain unchanged. Cline, 25, stated that nothing personal or negative will affect the job. Stokes, 30, plays John B. While it's not always easy to do, we have to leave the show and the season better than it was when we started it. That's something I really appreciate.

Cosmopolitan reported that Cline would likely have to make a decision on whether she wanted to discuss the split publicly. "My thing, is, I don’t owe anybody an explanation." I'm a very private person. I have a part that is only for me.

She admitted, however, that she knew in hindsight that making her relationship public was bad for everyone's good. Cline said, "And that I was aware of the negative side effects while going through the divorce, realizing that I had allowed people in, and then feeling like I couldn't get anyone out." It hit me like an earthquake. I wanted us to be happy and move on. People understand the need to take sides. There is no side -- there is no winning or losing during a breakup."

Despite being quite private about her relationship, "Stranger Things' actress shared her current status.

"I am happy to be with him. He makes me extremely happy. She said that she has never felt happier and feels very, very empowered. Love is close. You fight for it ---. when you find something similar. You also fight for it to remain yours.

Cline also addressed the initial rumors she wouldn't be returning to "Outer Banks" Season 3. The series will air on Netflix later in the month.

"I can remember being tagged in something, and I was like, "I'm not returning for Season 3?" She told the magazine. She said, "That was the first time I ever used social media to address a personal rumor. However, when I tried to spell 'grateful' I mispelled it. "I was drinking a lot of wine at that point and felt like I had to delete it now.

Cline stated that it was "never in doubt" that she would not reprise her role on the show's third season. Cline stated, "I love Sarah and I love my job."

Cline also revealed that there is a pay parity between the cast of "Outer Banks".

She shared that "we all make the same amount." It's a team effort and everyone works equally hard. We wanted everyone to have the same experience and feel equally compensated.
