The Disney+ film stars Ever Anderson, Jovovich's daughter at 15 years old, Alexander Molony, as the titular duo, and Yara Shahidi plays Tinker Bell.

The official trailer for Disney+'s "Peter Pan & Wendy" was released Tuesday. It looks absolutely magical.

The trailer shows off the film's stunning special effects and set design, and teases a new take on the beloved characters Disney fans are familiar with.

Based on J.M. Based on the J.M. Barrie novel, Ever Anderson stars as Wendy. Alexander Molony plays Peter Pan and Jude Law is Captain Hook. Meanwhile, Yara Shahidi plays Tinker Bell. This actress is the first Black woman who portrays the famed fairy.

According to Disney+, the film's synopsis reads: "Peter Pan & Wendy" introduces Wendy Darling as a young girl who is afraid to leave home. She meets Peter Pan, a boy who refuses growing up. She travels with Peter, along with her brothers and Tinker Bell, a tiny fairy. She is rescued by Captain Hook, an evil pirate captain. This leads her to a dangerous and thrilling adventure that will forever change her life.

Anderson, Molony and Law are all part of "Peter Pan & Wendy". Other stars include Jim Gaffigan and Alyssa wapanatahk, Joshua Pickering and Molly Parker.

David Lowery is the film's director. He was also behind "The Green Knight" in 2021 and "Pete's Dragon" in 2016. Toby Halbrooks and Lowery wrote "Peter Pan & Wendy".

"In making 'Peter Pan & Wendy', we set out to create a film that honored both the original J.M. Lowery stated in a Disney+ press release that he had made a statement citing the Barrie text as well as Walt Disney's animated adaptation. "We wanted to give life and spirit to our story with an open heart and an emotional sincerity. This film was made by hundreds of talented artists over many years. I am excited for the public to view their work and take this journey to rediscover an old story from a new perspective.

The Disney+ movie is the latest reimagining Barrie's play and novel, as well as Disney's 1953 animated classic. Steven Spielberg's 1991 movie "Hook" as well as the 2003 movie "Peter Pan", starring Jeremy Sumpter, are two of the most beloved adaptations.
