Police claim that a man shot his wife before being killed by a relative over the weekend.

On Saturday night, police responded to a domestic dispute in Foley, Alabama. The caller identified Scott Blackwell as the suspect and claimed he was armed.

According to Fox10News, shortly after the call, Blackwell became violent towards his wife Cindy Blackwell and shot her. A family member then shot Scott Blackwell as a retaliation, according to the Sheriff's Office.

According to reports, the shootings occurred just before deputies arrived. Both Scott and Cindy were both injured in the incident.

Investigators believe that Scott Blackwell was shot by a family member to defend Cindy and others. They have not been charged with criminal offenses in this case.

According to the Sheriff's Office, "Based on information from multiple witness interviews and our investigation so far, the family member that shot Scott Blackwell did it in defense Cindy Blackwell and other residents of the residence," a statement was made.

This case is still being investigated.
