Mariah Carey Responds to Martha Stewart's Plea Not to Skip Over Thanksgiving

Mariah Carey Responds to Martha Stewart's Plea Not to Skip Over Thanksgiving

"P.S. I would love to have your at my Thanksgiving dinner, even though I've yet been invited to your Thanksgiving extravaganza!"

Mariah Carey assures Martha Stewart that Thanksgiving still a holiday.

The self-proclaimed Queen of Christmas responded to the plea of the 81 year-old to not skip Thanksgiving after the singer declared that the start of #MariahSZN was at midnight on November 1.

Stewart, 52 years old, asked the "All I Want For Christmas" artist not to fast-forward from Halloween to Christmas while appearing on "The Today Show".

"Mariah! You know me. I'm a traditionalist with an interesting twist. The television personality stated that you can't give up Thanksgiving because you don’t like turkey. "I love turkey and many, many others love turkey. Don't think that Thanksgiving will be abandoned just because you said so.

Stewart was retweeted by Carey in a tweet, where she stated that she would not cancel Thanksgiving.

"Dearest Martha!! Never will I give up Thanksgiving! We can still get into the holiday spirit and start celebrating now! she quipped. "P.S. I would love to have you at Thanksgiving dinner, even though I have yet to be invited for your Thanksgiving extravaganza!" That is MAJOR! "Esp if Snoop is coming!"

Stewart called out after Mariah posted a video to Instagram at midnight on Halloween East Coast. She then launched what she called "MariahSZN".

Carey is seen wearing a black jumpsuit that covers her body, with black leather tie-up boots and black hair, while she exercises on a stationary bike. The footage of Carey is in black and white. She is surrounded with trees and pumpkins.

Then, she cackled like an witch before a calendar displaying November 1 appeared on the screen. The video and Carey switched to holiday mode at the same time. The background was decorated with holiday decorations. Carey's Grammy-winning outfit transformed into a Santa jumpsuit and the exercise bike turned into a reindeer.

Carey can then be heard singing "It's Time", ending with her famous whistle note. Carey started playing "All I Want for Christmas Is You"

"IT'S TIIIIIIIIME!!!!!!!! She captioned the clip with #MariahSZN

Carey continued her tradition by posting a similar video last November, declaring that Halloween was over at midnight on November 1. Carey did the exact same thing in 2020, and she released a 25th anniversary version of her music video "All I Want for Christmas is You" in 2019.

This holiday song, which is still one of the most popular Christmas songs ever, first reached the top of the charts in 1994. It took it 25 years for the single to reach number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 2019.

Carey set Spotify records for December 2020 with Spotify's highest single-day stream of the song on December 25, with 17.223 Million listens.
