Ballas and Charli D’Amelio announced their DWTS retirement together.
After almost 16 years of being a contestant on the show, Mark Ballas has decided to retire from "Dancing With The Stars".
The announcement was made by the professional dancer during a DWTS stop in Las Vegas on Sunday. The show's fifth season, 2007 was the first. It's currently on 31 seasons.
"I began this journey when I turned 21 years old, 22. You guys are amazing fans to be able dance and perform for them. "Thank you," Ballas said to fans, per People.
"So, I want to end by saying that this will be my last performance of this dance. Tonight is my last dance. He said, "This is my last dance."
Charli and Ballas were joined on stage by Charli, who won the Mirrorball trophy last October. This was Ballas' third win.
Ballas was a dance partner for celebrities such as Kristi Yamaguchi and Kim Kardashian during his time on DWTS. Ballas clarified that this is not the end for dancing permanently. However, it will be the last time he will have an elite partner to perform with him.
Ballas stated, "I don't think this is the end. [But] this will be the last time that I will be dancing [celebrity] partners." "And Charli wanted me to end this, and I really appreciate you guys. I want to do this freestyle one more time for you. I am grateful for your kindness and support.
Ballas also shared some lovely words about D'Amelio on Instagram.
He wrote, "Enjoy the moment with all your heart because you deserve this Char." I feel honored and privileged to have been your partner, coach, friend, and big brother. Ballas shared his thoughts on Instagram, saying that he thought about declining the Season 31 offer because he felt this "end of a chapter" in his life.
Ballas stated that he had "the best season ever" and that the freestyle was a great way to end it. "This song means everything to me. Charli means the whole world to my, and the D'Amelio families, you guys are the best. We are grateful for all that you do.
