The Little Mermaid actress, who has now been banned from working on sets with "screamers" or "crazy egos," says, "I worked for someone who once ran a set so volatile and hostile that it made me physically sick"
Melissa McCarthy opens up about a supposedly awful experience on set.
The star, who did not mention names, did admit that the experience had made her "physically sick" to the point where she finally decided she'd had it.
McCarthy told The Guardian that she and her husband, Ben Falcone, have a strict "no screaming or crazy egos' rule on their productions.
The actress paused before she began to describe an encounter she called "truly volatile" when asked by the publication if she had personally encountered those types in Hollywood.
She began, "I worked for someone who ran a set so volatile and hostile that it made my physically sick." "My eyes were swelling, I was absorbing this nuttiness."
She continued, "There were people crying, visibly upset by this person." "I think the manipulation was successful because this person fired people that I cared about to get me. This kept me silent." It was very successful."
She decided to end it.
"I was thinking, 'It's stopping today', one day. I kept telling them that it stopped, it stopped. "I'll never be silent again."
She did not provide any further information.
McCarthy will next be seen in "The Little Mermaid", which is set to hit theaters on May 26.
