Michigan mom accused of killing her 3-year-old daughter. SpongeBob told her to do it.

She claimed she was experiencing hallucinations due to heroin withdrawal.

A Michigan mother accused of killing her 3-year-old daughter was told by SpongeBob SquarePants that she should do it. The case has been heard.

Justine M. Johnson (22), is charged with felony murder, first-degree child abusing of Sutton M. Mosser. She was stabbed and killed on September 16, two days after she turned three.

Ryan Eberline was an investigator from Child Protective Services and interviewed Johnson in Jail to discuss the strange possible motive.

Eberline stated that Eberline had told her preliminary examination that she did not recall the details of the Sutton incident. She also said that she was having hallucinations from heroin withdrawal. She didn't sleep for two weeks.

"She was experiencing hallucinations caused by the TV, which had told her to kill her daughter or take her life."

He said, "It wasn't SpongeBob saying these things on TV." "If she didn’t do the same thing to her daughter, they would kill her." She claimed she was afraid for her safety and that she had lost her mind.

Johnson and her daughter lived with her brothers and parents in Oscoda Township at that time.

Johnson's brothers also testified Friday. Knesley Johnson Jr. said that Johnson left for work at 2:30 pm on September 16 and Sutton was there with her mom. This is not unusual. He returned to his home at 4 AM on the morning of September 16th and asked his brother, 17, where his sister and niece were.

According to him, his brother saw a foot of a child sticking out of a bag and went to the rear of their house. Their sister was also nowhere to be seen.

Due to his age, the younger brother also testified. He said that he entered the bathroom at 6 PM on September 16 and saw his sister who looked "like she was doing lines".

"She brushed it aside as soon as I walked in," he said. He said that he wasn't sure, and described a white powdery substance at the sink.

He claimed he had asked Sutton where he was and his sister answered: "Mind your [expletive]ing business."

He said, "But that's her normal response,"

He claimed he had also left the house on that day and returned at 10 PM. He then described how he found the garbage bag with his niece's corpse hours later.

He said, "There was like one foot sticking out of this bag." Knesley was shocked and ran to me. He didn't believe me. He thought I was making fun of him."

They looked inside and immediately called an uncle who called the police.

Gerald Soboleski, Oscoda Township police officer, also testified. He described the moment he arrived at the scene to find his uncle and brothers in the driveway.

Officer Soboleski stated that Knesley began telling me about his day at work. He searched the house for his sister or niece, but was unable to find them. "At that point he said, "And then we found..." referring to the human foot.

The officer went back to the house and found a blue circular tote with two trash bags on the top. A tiny human foot protruding from the other was also there.

"I felt the bottom part of the child's feet. Soboleski stated that it was cold to the touch and that EMS was called to the scene.

The bag contained a comforter that wrapped the body. Jaya L. Sankaran, a pathologist, told the court that the child had sustained stab wounds to his neck, chest and abdomen. There was also a gaping cut which exposed a small portion of the small intestine.

Investigators discovered bloodstains throughout the house and three knives in a bedroom. The bag also contained bloodstained clothes. Justine Johnson found several palm and finger prints on the bag.

Surveillance footage from 16th seems to show Johnson going and coming from the house in the same clothes as the bag. Investigators claim that her daughter never appears with Johnson.

Johnson is currently held without bond and is due for pre-trial hearing February 28.
