Minka and Taylor Kitsch played love interests in "Friday Night Lights," as well. Minka Kelly admitted that "life was very difficult on and off the set whenever we split up."
Minka Kelly continues her unpacking of her turbulent life as she prepares to release her memoir, "Tell Me Everything" on May 2. This includes her tumultuous relationship with her "Friday Night Lights' co-star Taylor Kitsch.
The "TItans'" star confesses that she and Taylor "shacked" up almost immediately, despite director Peter Berg’s advice not to get into a romantic relationship.

She said this relationship affected not only her relationship with Kitch but also with the other cast members.
According to The Daily Beast, she wrote in her book that "all the effort I could have invested in consistently connecting with the girls on show went towards Taylor." "I had nowhere to turn when my relationship with Taylor turned toxic."
Minka said that Taylor felt more comfortable with the cast when he "shared his feelings." She also felt alone whenever they broke up, which happened "more than she could count."
She said, "My coworkers didn't take me out to drink after work to heal my broken heart; instead they took him out." During those times of rest, everyone at work suffered.
She said that "life became very difficult on and off-set whenever we split up." "We were very young and had few tools for dealing with our personal feelings and emotions."
In Season 1 of "Friday Night Lights", Minka was 26 years old and Taylor, 25. The two starred together in the first three years of the series, and then Minka left. Kitsch left as a regular series after the next season.
She claims that "on the days when we were separated and had to work together, he did not want to be with me in the trailer for hair and make-up." We couldn't travel in the van from base camp up to the set together for the same reasons. The tension was high on those days and everyone felt awkward.

Minka said that she had learned a great deal about herself and her own personality from their relationship. She said that "vulnerability breeds connection," referring to Taylor as more. "As evidenced by both our coping mechanism's outcome."
She continued, "My tough guy approach left me alone." If you act as if there is no need for anyone, and if everyone around you doesn't know any better, then no one will be there.
The couple kept their relationship a secret for many years, both during the show as well as afterward. Kitsch didn't reveal that the couple dated Andy Cohen until 2018. He did not provide any further details, other than saying "the stakes" and "we were both so raw."
