"They never wanted to do that to me."

A woman in Alaska found an awful package that had been left at her mailbox on New Year's Day. It contained an abandoned baby.

Roxy Lane woke up in Fairbanks at 5:00 AM to find a box with blankets. She was shocked to discover that the box contained a newborn boy.

A note was placed on top that said: "Please help me !!!"."

"I was born December 31, 2021 at 6 a.m. I was 12 weeks premature. My mom was 28 weeks pregnant when I was born."

"My grandparents and parents don't have the money or food to support me. They never wanted to do this. My parents lived on Cormorant St., and my mom is so sorry to have to do this.

"Please take me, and find me a loving family. My parents beg anyone who finds me. My name is Teshawn."

The area saw temperatures drop as low as -1 degree.

The baby was found abandoned by Alaska State Troopers, according to KTOO. The baby was taken to a local hospital where he was found to be in good condition.

Roxy shared her heartbreaking discovery via a Facebook post which has been viewed 34kx. Roxy asked that people not rush to judge the parents.

She wrote, "Today I found an unclaimed newborn in a cardboard at the row od mailboxes near my house." "I have been processing my emotions all day and going through all the possible scenarios and reasons why this could have occurred, along with my family and bf. "I wanted to share my thoughts."

She mentioned that Alaska has Safe Haven laws, as with all US states. Parents can surrender newborns at hospitals, fire stations, and police stations without questions.

"I hope that the mother receives the support she needs. Roxy said that they couldn't afford to take her to the hospital, and she might need medical attention. Please, someone should check on this mom! She could be feeling abandoned or in desperate situations. We don't know the whole story, but we do believe there may be some hidden meaning behind her behavior.

Roxy stated that despite volunteering her time to help others in need, she was "thanked and called an angel" more often this week than any other week at work.

"Clearly someone in our community felt so hopeless and lost that they made the most difficult decision of their lives, leaving that innocent life by the side road with only a name and blankets. He was named by her! She said that there was some love in her, even though she made a horrible decision.

"I see that we are all struggling. You are my friend. She said, "I love you all and am here." "Today, I saved a child and I will probably think about Teshawn the rest of my lives."
