Nick Cannon Explains Why He Doesn't Try to Bring All His Children Together at Once

Nick Cannon Explains Why He Doesn't Try to Bring All His Children Together at Once

Nick Cannon, host of "Masked Singer", says that "the only person who would benefit" from everyone being in the same place would be him.

Nick Cannon is a father of many children, but his approach to managing time with them includes going to them rather than vice versa.

In a recent interview with People, "Masked Singer's" host explained that he didn't believe it would be logical to get all his children to hang out together. He thinks that "the only person who would benefit would probably be myself."

The comedian said, "I love to step into their world - going to their sporting events or giving them personal time during the holidays - so I don't mind bouncing around."

He said part of the reason for this is that everyone has a busy schedule, including him. He said that it was important to show people the value of spending time with them, and not force anyone to come to him.

The "Wild 'N Out' host shares 11 year-old twins Moroccan & Monroe with his ex-wife Mariah. Cannon has sons Golden, Rise Messiah and daughters Powerful Queen and Onyx, with LaNisha, Cole, and Abby De La Rosa. He also fathered sons Legendary and Rise Messiah with Bre Tiesi and daughter Onyx, with LaNisha.

Cannon welcomed daughter Halo-Marie with Alyssa in December. Cannon and Alyssa Scott were also parents of Zen, whose brain tumor caused him to die at the age of five months in 2021.

Cannon makes a concerted effort to be there for his children. However, in December 2022 the actor admitted that his "biggest sin" is the combination of his hectic schedule and the fact that all of his kids are spread out over several women and household.

He said that he felt guilty for not spending enough time with his children. This was while appearing on the Paramount+ show "The Checkup With Dr. David Agus".

Cannon, who still believes that this arrangement is the best for the moment, told People that the future could bring about changes. He said that as people age and slowed down, he was sure they would all come to him in the same place.

He gives credit to his six children's mothers, saying their unique family arrangement "wouldn’t work" if he didn't have them in his life. They are all amazing women who are super understanding, loving and compassionate towards the world in which we live.

Cannon may also remember his children better if they are grouped together. On "The Howard Stern Show", he was teased for forgetting to mention daughter Onyx, when asked to name all of his children.

Howard Stern joked that Onyx's slip-up would "create problems" with the mothers of his children. Cannon admitted his mistake, saying: "You threw off because I went in order."
