People are talking about Nick Lachey's comment at the "Love Is Blind” reunion, which seemed to poke fun at Jessica Simpson's marriage.

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey host the reality dating show on Netflix. During the reunion, which aired this week, he joked with Matt Bolton while talking to contestant.

Matt married Colleen Reed on the show and they seemed to be happy after saying "I do." This was Matt's second marriage. Nick said, "It's always more successful the second time around." Matt responded with a "Cheers!"

Online fans quickly made the connection between Nick’s comment and Simpson's first marriage. She, however, hasn't reacted.

Although Jessica didn't mention the perceived insult, she had plenty to say about Lachey's marriage and their subsequent divorce in her 2020 memoir "Open Book."

After their reality TV show "Newlyweds", Simpson claimed she was jealous of Nick and would accuse him of having a wandering eyes as the relationship spiraled downwards. She claimed that he would then say she was the one who caused the problems in their marriage, before she fell off the grid.

"He would leave town without answering his phone. He would go to Vegas or Miami with his brothers. She wrote that he could stay up late to teach me a lesson. He had a group male friends that helped him get in to places and receive VIP treatment at bars and strip clubs. That scene was a favorite of his, and it was disgusting to me."

Simpson told Jessica she wanted to divorce him, and "he immediately tried [to] talk me out of it," Jessica said. He moved out while he was away, but she didn't tell him. She wrote that she wished they were "the kind of people who can divorce and remain friends."

She claimed that they slept together again after their split, but there was "no connection." She said, "I knew that I would never see him again."

Later, Lachey married Vanessa and they have three children together. Simpson married Eric Johnson, and they have three children together.
