Niecy's daughter Dia asked Niecy how she identified herself and she gave her the following answer.

The comedian, 52 years old, recalled feeling "confused” about the question her daughter 22-years-old asked her while appearing on Tuesday's episode "The Tamron Hall Show". Dia had asked her before she married Jessica Betts.

Tamron Hall asked "Never Have I Ever" star Tamron Hall if Dia, your youngest, wanted you to label everything. "We talk so often about LGBTQ+, binary and non-binary and I know that people were asking Niecy Nash what she is. Is she bisexual ? These were your questions. What did you do?

"My daughter was like, "How do you identify?" "My daughter was like, 'How do you identify?' I replied, 'Huh?." After she didn't understand her first question, Nash acknowledged that Dia needed to ask again and responded, "Black and you mama."

"And [Dia] was like: 'No, you have to know, Mom. "She made me watch a program about all the labels and names. My head was spinning after the show was over," Nash admitted.

"And I was like: 'Girl! I'm more confused than before this. I don't know. She said, referring to her spouse, "If I had to make it up in the moment, then I would say that I'm Jesssexual." "I have never seen anyone male or female the way that I see them. So, I don't know. However, right now, I don't know. I told my friend, "Write it down."

Niecy said that her daughter asked the same question after she had seen the show.

In March 2021, "Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Stories" actress spoke out about the reactions of her children to her coming out during an appearance on Red Table Talk. Nash has three children with Don Nash, her ex-husband: Dominic, Donielle, and Dia.
