Jeopardy! Jeopardy! A new study found that male contestants often make more money because of one specific reason.

A new study examines how 'Jeopardy!'contestants play

Gabriella Sjogren Lindquist, Jenny Save-Soderbergh and Jenny Save-Soderbergh from the Swedish Institute for Social Research analyzed 206 episodes Jeopardy! and specialized in the Daily Double segment.

The Daily Double allows contestants to wager a certain amount of money. However, it cannot exceed the amount they have won during the course of the game. The study examined the betting patterns of male and female contestants.

Lindquist & Save-Soderbergh found that there were "no systemic gender variations in performance," which means that the proportion of female and male contestants who correctly answered a question was pretty equal. It was found that men are more likely than women to correctly answer questions when they play against other men.

Who bets more on a Daily Double?

The study revealed that betting is more profitable for men than women. This was due to the obvious fact that they bet more. When playing against two men, the study found that women contestants use a conservative wagering strategy.

A female contestant playing against two women will place more bets, but they won't usually make as big bets as male contestants. Researchers stressed that the pool of Jeopardy they had was not representative of society as a whole. The players are not representative of society as a whole. Game show contestants sign up to compete. This means they're more outgoing and love playing against other people.

Feminine contestants perform'significantly better' against male players

Lindquist, Save-Soderbergh explained to us that the difference in risk taking between genders is likely "socially driven." This could explain why there are less women at the top of the wage distribution. Basically, women are socialized not to take great risks and are taught to be safe.

However, this reluctance to take chances pays off in the end. Lindquist, Save-Soderbergh discovered that women did "significantly better than" the two male contestants in the end.

Jeopardy! Jeopardy! has a large group of winners from all genders. Every contestant plays the game in a different way. The new study simply revealed that male and female participants bet differently on the program.
