"I thought she might have slammed her fingers in the door." One mom who was compelled to act said, "I definitely wasn't expecting a raccoon wrapped round her leg."

Over the weekend, two horrific animal attacks on children were captured on video. In both cases their parents jumped between the threats and their children.

Two-year-old girl is seen in Woodland Hills, California security footage. A coyote grabbed her from behind and pulled her to the ground. The child then screamed in terror.

The father of her daughter is seen running towards them shouting, "Go!" Go!" As the wild animal drops the child, it turns around and runs away.

The father grabs something to throw at the coyote and then retreats.

The mother of the girl told KTLA that her daughter had suffered from scratches on her left leg. One was so deep, they decided to take her to the ER to get a rabies shot. Her mom added that her daughter's face was also bruised.

KTLA was reporting on the story at the family's house that evening when a coyote appeared and was chased into the bushes.

Friday morning, Ashford, Connecticut saw another animal attack on a family's front porch. Rylee MacNamara was able to see the footage as she stepped outside to catch a bus.

The child said that she was heading out to catch the bus when a raccoon approached her. WFSB footage shows her trying shake the creature off her foot and then struggling to return inside the house.

Her mother ran outside and grabbed Rylee's ankle, rescuing her daughter. It's a rabid animal! Get help!" She yells before throwing the animal onto her lawn and running into her house. Animal control has not been able to locate the raccoon.

Both were bitten by a raccoon, and both were given rabies shots.
