"You'll show-up to the set and you'll be playing yourself, and [you're] like: 'Hey, I'm a big fool with a d–-k that smokes weed.'" Davidson shared.

Pete Davidson doesn't like the public scrutiny of his love life.

The 29-year old comedian spoke out about his insecurity over the love he has with his romantic partners during a podcast appearance.

"I am in my 20s and have dated people. That's why it seems so bizarre and fascinating to people. Davidson stated that he doesn't find it interesting. "I have been in showbusiness almost for half of my life -- for 14-15 years and on a national television show. In the past 12 years, I have dated 10 people. Although I don't believe it's crazy, some people find that very interesting. This was all that anyone could talk about.

The "Bodies Bodies Bodies” star revealed that he does not use social media and refrains from sharing his past relationships with high-profile celebrities. Davidson said that he met all his partners through work and that he was not in any of their DMs. "I worked in one of the five Hollywood epicenters where people meet and that's how it all happened."

The actor from "Kings of Staten Island" shared his frustration with the media attention he received about his personal life. Davidson stated that his fame is not for his acting or comedy skills, but for the beautiful women he has dated -- which has caused insecurity about his career.

"Suddenly, you're in the zeitgeist and it has nothing to do work. He admitted that it was a very shaky feeling. "I was more well-known before I had any work, but I was always working."

Davidson also said that he is trying to get away from his comedy persona to be more serious as an actor.

He explained, "That's why... just act, become an actor in some thing and not just being what people think of me." Pete recalls working on projects in which he was playing himself. He realized that he didn't want to be seen as "big idiot" or "smoking weed".

"You'll arrive at the set and play yourself. You're like, "Hey, I'm an idiot with a D--k who smokes marijuana." And you're like: "Jesus Christ! This is what Oscar winners think about me?"

"That's embarrassing, oh my god," Davidson said. You do it because they like you and you want people to work with you. That was my thing for a while, but it doesn’t have to stay my thing forever.

Pete's high-profile relationships began to make headlines. The jokes started to become more common during Pete's time on Saturday Night Live. Although he is "cool" with his "late night friends", the "Suicide Squad star said that he felt like a loser when he was continually made fun of his romantic life.

"When it's your show and I'll sit in the back and watch the cold open and [it’s] current political humor or any other topic in the culture and they're making fun at you and you have to walk out and do another sketch next and hit the mark -- the show just made fun you, so why should they laugh at you? They were just begging you."

Davidson acknowledged that he still "loves” his former co-stars but also claimed that he owes his life to Lorne Michaels, creator of "SNL."

It was really hard. It makes you feel insecure. He said, "You feel small."

In 2018, Davidson made headlines with his romantic ventures after he was engaged to Ariana Grande, just a few short weeks into their relationship. In October 2018, the couple split and Grande wrote "Thank U, Next", a hit song about Davidson.

Pete has had famous ex-girlfriends like Kaia Gerber, Margaret Qualley and Phoebe Dynevor. Kim Kardashian was also a famous ex-girlfriend of the comedian after she hosted "SNL" for nine years.

The actor of "Meet Cute" has also been in a relationship with Emily Ratajkwoski. He was most recently linked to Chase Sui Wonders, his "Bodies Bodies Bodies” co-star.
