It is not surprising that the Playboy Mansion was a hotbed of drug abuse. A new documentary claims that the drug abuse was not limited to the Playboy Mansion.
Sondra Theodore (one of Hugh Hefner’s ex-girlfriends), claims in Secrets of Playboy, that Hugh Hefner was a party-goer who got addicted to cocaine. John Dante was Hef’s best friend. Theodore says that he had a dog named Louis, and that tiny poodle became addicted to cocaine. Dante is well-known for his films such as Gremlins and The Burbs.
"There were drugs all around. It was smelt from all around the room. She continued, "He had to lock that dog away when people were present." According to Theodore Louis the poodle would eat cocaine from "huge vials" placed around the famous mansion.
The drug was so addictive that the dog would even lick people's faces with it. Theodore said that a very well-known person came into Theodore's house and saw the dog jumping off the couch. He was then licking his nose. "She says, 'He just love me.' We understood why that dog was there."
Lisa Loving Barrett, an employee of Hefner, said, "Cocaine is a big deal." She added that the drug was hidden in piles all around the house, sometimes under the toilet paper holder in one bathroom.
Holly Madison's account of living in the mansion
This is the result of an explosive interview with Holly Madison, one of Hefner’s ex-girlfriends. The model shared details about their relationship on the power: Hugh Hefner podcast. They were together from 2001 through 2008.
Madison said that she hoped to be invited to the Playboy Mansion, but was not able to. Madison also shared that she went to a nightclub with Hefner before returning to the mansion with Hefner's girlfriends.
Madison stated, "I wasn’t expecting to have sexual sex that evening. I thought it would more like a first date -- even if it’s not a very traditional one." He literally pushed me on top. It happened. I was embarrassed and mortified.
Hefner, who was the founder of Playboy magazine and lived in the Playboy Mansion between 1974 and his death in 2017. He was 91 years of age. The 10-part series Secrets of Playboy premieres on A&E Network January 24,
