"Who knows if you're even your father?" Harry says King Charles would laugh

Prince Harry addressed several rumors and dropped many bombshells with his memoir, "Spare." This includes the long-held rumor that his "real dad" isn’t King Charles but Major James Hewitt who was Princess Diana’s former lover.

The book was released officially on Tuesday by the Duke of Sussex. Charles claimed that he would make fun of the speculation in the book.

Harry, 38, wrote that Pa liked stories and that this was one of his best. "He would always end with a burst philosophizing... Who knows if he's really the Prince of Wales?" Who knows if you're even your father?

"He would laugh and laugh, even though it was a remarkably absurd joke given the rumor that Mummy's father was Major James Hewitt. He continued. "This rumor is due to Major Hewitt's flaming ginger locks, but sadism was also involved."

Harry found the joke not funny but said that tabloids readers loved the idea that he might not be Charles' son. He also noted that people "couldn’t get enough" of the "joke".

He said, "Maybe they felt better about their lives that the young prince's was laughable," before adding that the timelines don’t add up. "It doesn't matter that Major Hewitt didn't meet my mother until after I was born.

Prince Harry was born September 1984. Princess Diana and Hewitt didn't meet until 1986. Hewitt denied the claims over the years.
