Priscilla opens up about Riley Keough and her relationship with her after their legal battle regarding Lisa Marie's Estate.
Priscilla Presley opens up about her famous family, and her relationship with her granddaughter Riley Keough following the death of her daughter Lisa Marie Presley.
The legal drama Priscilla had with her granddaughter Lisa Marie began in January, just after Lisa Marie's death. Lisa Marie passed awayon 12 January at the age 54 after being rushed into the hospital after a cardiac event. Priscilla contested a 2016 will amendment that removed Priscilla's and Lisa Marie's ex-business manager Barry Siegel as cotrustees. Lisa Marie replaced them with Riley and Benjamin Keough. Benjamin Keough tragically died in 2020. Riley was then named sole trustee of Lisa Marie's estate which included Graceland.
Priscilla and Riley eventually resolved their dispute regarding the control of Lisa Marie’s trust. TMZ reports that Riley now owns a significant portion of the Elvis Presley Graceland Estate. However, the settlement stipulates that Priscilla can use the estate as her final resting spot.
In an Interview with The Hollywood Reporter , Priscilla insisted that she and her granddaughter were on "good terms", adding "We have never been on bad terms."
Priscilla added, "I'm actually having dinner with [Riley] this evening." "We know what has to be done. I'm always there for her. She knows it. "She wants me to be there with her and help her."
Riley said in a recent interview with Vanity Fair that "everyone is in a little panic about how to move forward, and it took a moment to understand the specifics of the situation because it's complex."
"Grandma's happy when you do things with her." They have never been unhappy. "I'm trying not to make it a 20 minute conversation, but I want to find a way to respond to this question." she said. "There's been a little upheaval but everything will be back to normal now." She is a beautiful woman and was an integral part of my grandfather's legacy, Graceland. She finds it very important. "He was the love and passion of her life."
Keough told the outlet that she believes Priscilla's grave will be at Graceland. She said she can have a plot "if so desires."
Priscilla revealed in the same THR interview that she and Lisa Marie had shared a night celebrating the Golden Globes together. She said, "I knew there was something wrong."
Priscilla began, "We just got there. You go down these stairs." "I tripped because I was wearing high heels, and she began laughing so loudly. I began to laugh. We hadn't had a drink. She says, "Oh my god, Mom, you're not allowed to drink at all." "It was a great memory, and a good time."
"We sat and ordered drinks and she said, 'Mom my stomach hurts bad.' "We immediately got up, and left," said Priscilla. Two days later, Danny Keough called her to tell her that Lisa Marie, his ex-wife, was in the hospital.
She said, "I got in the car and she was already gone." "I can't believe what I am seeing. "I don't want this to happen to any mother."
Lisa Marie passed away on 12 January at the age 54, following an emergency hospital visit. Priscilla confirmed her death in a statement.
Priscilla said, "It's with a heavy-hearted heart that I share the devastating news of my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie leaving us."
In a press release, she stated that "She was one of the most passionate and loving women I've ever met." We ask for privacy while we deal with the profound loss. We appreciate your prayers and love. "At this time, there will be no more comments."
Lisa Marie's twin daughters Harper, Finley and Riley are still alive. She also had a son Benjamin who died in the year 2020.
