The "horrific" news that the family has received is met with "compassion", while the Sheriff's Office issues a new appeal to "potential witness".

Rachel Morin's mother, who is also a mother of five, has opened up about the pain her family feels. Her body was discovered on a hiking path.

Patty Morin sent an open letter to the world on her daughter Rebekah’s Facebook page, addressing "all mothers with daughters and fathers and brothers and sisters and husbands to our local communities and to all the world's onlookers".

She continued, "As a mother, I am grateful for the love and support that my family, friends and the global community have shown me in the loss of my daughter." "Thanks for caring." Truly."

Patty shared their plans for Rachel's funeral. We are planning a 5K run/walk in Rachel's honor, and we hope to have a flower trail.

"We are in grief." We need time and space for our family to grieve. We haven't forgotten our community. We need some time. "I need time," she concluded. It's only been four days since we heard the horrifying news. Please, as mothers, fathers and brothers and sisters, have compassion and allow this."

Her letter was written shortly after the Harford County Sheriff's Office appealed to the public again for assistance, this time in regards to potential witnesses.

They shared the following on Facebook on Thursday : "Detectives are aware of potential witnesses who may have seen Rachel Morin walking on the trail." These individuals were walking along the Ma and PA Trail from the Rt. Between 6:00 pm and 7:15 pm, 24 tunnel towards the split in trail that leads to Williams Street trailhead. The witnesses were either described as 3 men, 2 woman and 2 dog OR 2 men 3 women 2 dogs."

Morin's boyfriend reported her missing after she did not return from a run . Her body was found the next day, after her boyfriend reported her missing.

Sheriff Jeffrey R. Gahler stated that one of the questions his office continues to receive "relates to whether we've interviewed the boyfriend." He confirmed yes -- and added, "alongside many others who are close Rachel."

He continued, "That's how an investigation is conducted." "We begin with those who were in her inner circle, and then move outward.

Gahler said that 10 investigators have been assigned to this case. They "continue to be on call around the clock." He stated that the detectives, forensic analysts, and crime analysts have "scoured every detail" of the days before Rachel's death to create a comprehensive timeline.

In his message, he concluded: "Please take care of one another and watch out for eachother." Together we will solve the crime and find that heinous coward, who stole Rachel Morin away from her friends and family.
