Rainn Wilson, a former Office employee, announced Wednesday that he would change his name to Rainnfall Heat Wave Extree Winter Wilson in an effort to increase awareness about climate change.
The 56-year old actor uploaded a video to his Instagram and Twitter accounts, in which he highlighted the need to highlight the climate crisis and specifically the "global risk of Artic weather changes."

Wilson encouraged his fans to use the name generator for awareness and suggested that celebrities such as Cardi B and Amy Poehler, as well as Leonardo DiCaprio, can also get involved. He called out Elon Musk, a controversial new Twitter CEO, tweeting "P.S. THEY WON’T LET ME MODIFY MY NAME BECAUSE, Elon!"
Some online critics were critical of Wilson's name-change. But, Wilson's name change was met with some criticism online. However, Wilson later seemed to poke fun at critics with an amusing tweet.
He laughed and said, "I'm actually changing to 'Nn' my name."
