"I locked myself inside the bathroom and Coach was so scared, that he had to knock the door down."
Jen Shah claims that she tried to commit suicide because of bullying on social media, while trying to deal with the legal implications from her fraud scandal.
The reality star, 49, opened up to Whitney Rose and Heather Gay, her "Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” castmates, during Wednesday's episode.
Jen made a shocking confession when Gay and Rose confronted her about her behavior. Let me finish. I nearly committed suicide. Okay, I tried. She blurted.
"Because Omar Sharrieff and Sharrieff weren’t going to have a mother. Sharrieff was not going to have a woman," she stated, referring to her husband Sharrieff Shah (51) and their two children.
"I locked myself inside the bathroom and Coach was so afraid he had to knock the door down, because he didn’t know what I would do. Coach took me to the hospital. She recalled that I was there for two-and-a-half days. "You guys don't have a clue." You don't know. Bullying is not acceptable."
She said that she has always felt strong, referring to activity on Instagram. "There was just too much negativity surrounding the trial and I reached the day when I was done."
Shah was arrested in March 2021 for allegedly running a Telemarketing Scheme that affected hundreds of people. Most of the victims were the elderly.
Shah stated that she would never accept a plea deal during the RHOSLC's third season premiere, which was filmed seven weeks prior to her trial date.
Shah and Stuart Smith, the assistant to Shah, were accused of selling and generating "leads" of innocent people that could be used in a telemarketing scheme for nearly a decade. Many victims were working-class and elderly.
The sentencing date for Bravo's personality was moved to December holidays and she is now scheduled to hear her verdict Jan. 6, 2023.
Jen could be sentenced to up to 14 years imprisonment and a $9.5 restitution fine.
