Sammi "Sweetheart", Giancola, has returned to MTV's "Jersey Shore" franchise after a decade.

MTV's "Jersey Shore" and Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola confirmed her return with two subtle hints.

Sammi was a part of the original "Jersey Shore", which ran from 2009 to 2012. She opted out of appearing on the series that launched in 2018. She took to Instagram at the time to declare that she was happy with her life without the cameras and she wanted to avoid "potentially toxic" situations.

It seems that all of this is about to change. Official Instagram account of the show made their announcement with a photo of Sammi in front of a greenscreen and captioned it "She's still a sweetest b ---- that you'll ever see."

As if that wasn't enough, they added a camera emoticon to indicate she was filming. Then, they tagged her and dropped a hashtag for the show. Sammi and the show shared a video of Sammi smiling into the camera, before Sammi made Sunday's official announcement.

"Okay, I can finally say...I am backkk!" @jerseyshore "JsfamilyVacation" she captioned the picture with a photo of herself standing in front of a green screen. With his comment, "We have a situation," Costar Mike Sorrentino (The Situation) was right on brand.

The rest of the cast also shared versions of these images and videos on their Instagram pages to spread the word about the new season. Jenni Farley even shared some throwback photos of the OG cast to her Stories.

Sammi was the only cast member who hadn't been cast in the new series. However, the cast didn't give up on trying to convince her to join them.

In September 2022, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi told E! News: "We tried to get it back like two years before, all of us texting and saying, 'Come for one meal. Why not? She's always like, "No, I won't do that show again." It wasn't something we wanted to push."

Sammi is now ready for a "Vacation" less than a full year later. Ronnie Ortiz Magro, for the first time in her life, isn't part of the cast. This could have had an impact on Sammi's decision. Sammi and Ronnie have had a turbulent relationship in the past. Ronnie left to seek treatment for his mental health problems.

Although it is not clear when Sammi will first appear on camera, or if at any point this season, new episodes of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation are currently being aired every Thursday at 8 pm. ET on MTV.
