On Sunday, fans went crazy when Samuel L. Jackson was unable to win the Tony Awards.

It wasn't that he was defeated, but rather the expression he gave when the winner of the contest was announced.

It's another matter whether the fans correctly read his expression, but his legion followers came away with only one conclusion.

The actor was nominated as the best performer in a feature role for his performance in "The Piano Lesson" by August Wilson. The film was directed by Jackson’s wife LaTanya.

Brandon Uranowitz won the Tony for "Leopoldstadt."
