Sarah Michelle Gellar Gets Emotional Watching Selma Blair Nail Cartwheel and Splits on DWTS

Sarah Michelle Gellar was overcome with emotion as she watched her ex-Cruel Intentions co-star, Selma Blair, stun the crowd after her MS diagnosis.

Blair's acrobatic performance for the series' Elvis night inspired viewers all over the world on Monday's episode. In 2018, Blair, a 50-year-old star of "Legally Blonde," revealed that she had multiple sclerosis. This is a condition that affects her balance and motor skills.

Blair did a jive routine for "Jailhouse Rock", where she ended her routine with Sasha Farber, her professional partner. She finished the routine with a cartwheel that glided into the splits.

Selma uses a cane a lot after performing a highly energetic dance routine with leg kicks and challenging maneuvers.

Gellar was seen fighting back tears in the crowd as she watched her friend perform with pride knowing how far she has come.

Carrie Ann Inaba, DWTS judge, stated that there is no other way to express it than making it seem so much easier. It is an incredible feat.

Blair exclaimed, "It's amazing!" about her dance ability. I have not been able invert for many years. When I was a kid, I was a gymnast... but that was 50 years ago. It was incredible to even begin to play and have the most fun. It was just amazing.

Selma confessed earlier this month that she was nervous about going on the dance floor for the first-time, but she was excited about being part of the reality competition.

"I feel so happy and invigorated by it. Blair said that Blair is someone who might have had a bit of dread in the past. News. "No dread!"

She referred to the "new chapter" in her multiple sclerosis story as a "new chapter." She stated that it was about "growing my stamina, really healing" and "finding strength to support."

Blair also spoke to Us Weekly, where she discussed how her diagnosis could affect her daily life. Selma said that she sometimes loses her speech under hot lights or the sun. She agreed. She said, "Like getting a cup of coffee, getting out of the car will be very diffrent than if my knees are up in a car seat. I can still talk clearly."

She continued, "There are so many interesting things that I have realized and patterns that I don’t think people understand, even if they have MS friends," she said. "I'm just a bit more dramatic about it."

Although she is not exposed to sunlight, the television's heat can cause severe burns.

She feels that she is at a stage in her life where she is ready to tackle a show like "DWTS." She told Us that she couldn't have done it two years ago because her confidence and balance were not there. She said, "Now it seems possible."

Farber believes Blair has made great strides in learning how to control her body. He told Us that it's more than a dance performance for him. "I want Selma out of this with so many more."
