The 26-year old reality star said, "I think what is happening is exactly what I need to stop being this entitled, spoiled person. What's happening is testing me as a human."

Savannah Chrisley recalls her financial situation prior to her parents' imprisonment.

In a recent Entertainment Tonight interview, the reality star revealed that she spent her money as if it would never disappear because she did not believe it would. It wasn't until her parents, Todd, and Julie Chrisley, were sent to prison for tax evasion and bank fraud that she realized the truth.

"I spent my money as if it would never go away. ... "I never thought it would go away," said Savannah. After her parents were convicted, Savannah was given custody of her brother Grayson (17) and her niece Chloe (10).

She explained, "When you live in a household with only one income you do what you need to." "I believe that God will never give you more than what you can handle. What is happening is exactly what I need to stop being entitled, spoiled or whatever. Because what is happening is testing me as a human. It took away many things. "For about a whole year, anything work-related disappeared."

Savannah says the new reality show for her family will focus on her role as bonus parent and follow her life, along with her siblings' during their parents' imprisonment.

She said, "For the very first time, we will be able to speak openly about legal issues and discuss them."

She added, "It is definitely testing me but being a bonus-parent for my siblings has been the hardest, yet most rewarding, job I have ever had." She was referring to raising her younger brother, and niece. "... "... It's going to touch on that."

According to federal prison records dated September 7, it was revealed last week that Todd and Julie's release dates from prison had been moved up.

Todd, who had reported to the Federal Correctional Institution Pensacola (FPI) in Florida in January, has his release date moved up two years to January 22, 2033. Julie, who's serving at FMC Lexington, Kentucky, will be released on October 19, 2028, a year, three months and a half earlier than she was originally due to.

Insider reported that "Jay Surgent, the attorneys for Todd and Julie, is without a doubt a model prisoner who received extortionate sentences." "I think Todd is at 10 years, and Julie has five years left."

Eight months ago, the pair started their respective federal jail sentences due to bank fraud and tax avoidance. Todd was initially sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Julie received seven.

The couple will be required to complete 16 months probation after completing their sentences.
